Toyota Sued By Man Seriously Injured in Toyota Corolla Accident - National Auto Defect Law Firm Bisnar Chase Represents Elias Chico

Orange County, CA (PRWEB) September 16, 2008 -- Orange County resident Elias Chico is suing Toyota Motor Company for having knowingly manufactured a defective Toyota Corolla that caused him serious injury. The case was filed on August 18, 2008 in California Superior Court, Orange County, before Judge Robert J. Moss, Case # 30-2008-00110699. The national automobile defect law firm Bisnar Chase is representing Chico.

According to court documents, on April 14, 2007, Elias Chico was driving his 2005 Toyota Corolla northbound on Brea Boulevard in Orange County when he lost control of his vehicle, drifting across the southbound lane and colliding head-on with another vehicle. Although Chico was properly restrained at the time of the accident, he was ejected through the right front door of the Toyota Corolla. Chico sustained many serious injuries including traumatic brain injury, skull fractures, lung-bruising and leg fractures in several places. He was transported to the University of California Irvine Medical Center where he underwent a series of operations and extensive medical treatment.

Court documents allege that Toyota Motor Company knowingly manufactured the 2005 Toyota Corolla with several problems that included defective seatbelts and door latches. Chico is suing for medical expenses, loss of past and future earnings and earning capacity; damages for personal injuries, pain and suffering and court costs.

"For about $100 or so dollars, Toyota could have made a seatbelt that didn't tear and spared Mr. Chico so much pain and suffering," said Brian Chase, partner at Bisnar Chase. "Not to mention allowing him the dignity of earning a living and of living his life the way he chose to live it. Instead, Toyota put their profits before their customers, so in mere seconds my client's life has now been forever changed."
