Internet Prom Dresses and Homecoming Dresses Retailer Makes New Changes for 2009 Prom Season
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) August 7, 2008 -- The Philadelphia based supplier of prom dresses (http://www.promgirl.net) and formal gowns is finding that online retailers aren't suffering the same fuel related costs and weakness of the currency of their brick and mortar competitors.
Online retailers like Promgirl.net and its subsidiaries 4prom.com and Promdress.net are one of the few industries that haven't been hit as hard by the fuel crises. In fact, since the majority of buyers are teens and their parents looking for formal gowns like prom dresses, homecoming dresses and Quinceanera gowns, online retailers may have a significant advantage. According to the Pew Internet and American Life Project, 87% of teens in the US are online already. Of those online Americans (of all ages) 66% have already made online purchases. When you combine fuel conscious parents with Internet savvy teens, online shopping for prom dresses seems to make a lot of sense.
According to one of the owners Klari Farkash, "The national publicity that resulted from having our prom dresses highlighted on America's Prom Queen combined with the high gas prices have resulted in a lot of increased traffic to our website, and lot more orders being processed through our warehouse. That's only going to increase when the 2009 prom season gets here. We've decided to make some significant upgrades now to both the warehouse facility and our customer service department to handle the expected volume of prom dresses (http://www.4prom.com) the coming season."
Upgrades to the warehouse include new software to automatically track packages and streamline organizational procedures. In an effort to improve customer service the company has added more representatives, additional phone lines, and is now open longer hours.
That's not all in that's in store for the busy formal wear seller. Promgirl.net recently announced the addition of a UK based website that will cater to an overseas clientele. The European site will carry many of the same top formal wear lines as their United States counter part. These will include top eveningwear, prom dress designers like Jovani, Mori Lee, Dave and Johnny and Faviana among others.
Online buyers are most likely to point to the convenience of finding what they want without leaving home, and to the cost savings of comparison shopping as the benefits of buying from online retailers. However, it is the quality of the products that seems to dictate how satisfied buyers are with the experience.
While teen buyers are looking at gorgeous designer prom dresses and homecoming dresses (http://www.promgirl.net/ho.html) for 2008, Farkash knows that their parents have concerns about credit safety and ease of buying online. She states, "That's partially what inspired the additions to Promgirl's customer service staff. We know that parents and teens want a safe and uncomplicated buying experience. We want to ensure that these girls can focus on the prom dresses, and their parents can feel secure that all the correct safeguards are in place."
Promgirl Inc. also offers prom dresses, homecoming dresses, and formal gowns for many occasions to US based customers, and to UK based customers through Prom dresses in UK (http://www.epromdress.co.uk) web site.
In addition Promgirl Inc. provides prom (http://www.promdress.net) advice through its social network and advertising website Promdress.net.
